Once You're Here
We had a fabulous 10th anniversary weekend....we also thank you for your help in finding a fantastic kayak adventure! Although my arms can barely move from our trip, it really capped off our weekend!
The San Juan Islands of Washington State are located approximately 150 miles north of Seattle in the midst of the great ocean inlet formed by the Strait of Juan de Fuca, Puget Sound, and the Strait of Georgia. They consist of a cluster of picturesque islands with rocky shorelines that are covered in dense forests and rolling farmlands, of which San Juan Island is one of the largest. An average of 247 days of sunshine, half the rain of Seattle, Washington, make the San Juan Islands the perfect year-round getaway! San Juan Island is the most diverse of the three main islands, combining rocky shores and sandy beaches, prairie and pastureland, lakes and forests.
The San Juan and surrounding islands offer a large range of recreation activities to please a wide variety of interests. We offer the complimentary use of mountain bikes and kayaks for touring the island by land or water. Spend your days exploring the underwater environment kayaking, scuba diving or watching our pods of Orca Whales. The islands are home to three resident pods of over 80 Orca Whales which can be spotted year round in and around the Haro Straights and from many vantage points on San Juan Island.

Feel free to browse the links of attractions in order to plan a vacation of a lifetime or simply contact us for advice and additional service. SanJuanIslands.com and Emily's Guides are also helpful in planning your stay on the Islands. We also offer several special packages and we will be happy to arrange a customized vacation based on your personalized interests. Take in a round of golf, visit a nearby island, or curl up with your favorite book and relax in your own private outdoor hot tub or indoor whirlpool bath. Despite all these temptations to keep you on the go and active, our scenic landscape and peaceful island atmosphere may just lull you into total nirvana and contentment. Watch the water lapping against the shore and curl up with a great book. After a short nap, relax in the hot tub as you dream about your evening filled with great food and pleasant conversation with friends and family. What else are vacations for?
