Meet the Innkeepers
The Tucker House and our neighbor Inn, the Harrison House Suites, are the culmination of a dream come true for inn owners Anna Maria de Freitas and David Pass. Having spent years traveling the world as guests at many bed and breakfasts and country inns, the memories of their visits were not only influenced by the amenities that each offered, but by the hospitality of the innkeepers. Throughout their travels, they took copious notes. So with these special Friday Harbor Inns, they have tried to incorporate and build upon many of the wonderful ideas from fellow innkeepers around the world.
Since moving to the San Juan Islands in 2005, Anna Maria and Dave have worked tirelessly to renovate these historic Friday Harbor Inns. Now with two Inns and the Coho Restaurant, they have grown beyond a small Mom & Pop Bed & Breakfast. Dave and Anna Maria, along with our professional team of room attendants, innkeepers, chef and concierge, will do everything we can to make your vacation memorable. Whether it’s kayaking through the straits and picnicking on a nearby island, taking in a spa day or having a private masseuse come to your suite, playing 18 on the local course, day tripping to Orcas, or relaxing on one of our many decks, we’ll help you plan your stay and make it your best.
Before moving to the Islands in 2005, Dave worked as a software engineer and Anna Maria in public broadcasting. They worked and played hard. What drew them to the life as innkeepers was their love of entertaining, cooking, and sharing fine cooked meals and the fruits of their garden with family and friends.
Both Anna Maria and Dave are certified scuba instructors and enjoy many other outdoor activities including golfing, hiking, gardening and downhill skiing. Anna Maria is a classically trained flutist. Since moving to the Islands, Dave has taken up flying. He puts his hobby to good use year round by flying off island regularly to select the freshest seasonal produce from neighboring farms for our breakfast table.
